New Year Resolutions
One of the great rituals of New Year is the making of resolutions and one of the great disappointments of New Year’s Day is the breaking of them! New Year resolutions are, in fact, profoundly Christian: both because they are about fresh starts and Christianity is all about fresh starts and also because, as we know, none of us lives up to what God intended us to be or what we ourselves in our hearts would like to be.
Many people find that the most successful New Year resolutions are those which are not too specific. Why not try something like attempting to give more attention to other people’s needs as well as our own or, even more generally, just to be more loving to and understanding of those around us. If every body did this what a difference it would make!
.
May God bless you all
